Urgent: Need Your Help to Save a Boy at Serendipity School
Saturday, 17 December 2011 16:08    | Written by Bay Area for Kids    E-mail

Dear Friends,

We need your help. Last week Kyle Crawford, a four year old boy at Serendipity Preschool in San Mateo, was diagnosed with aplastic anemia. He is now hospitalized at Stanford's Lucille Packard fighting for his life. This is happening so fast, but he and his family are desperate to find a bone marrow donor. If they don't find a match in the near future, Kyle will die.

The would-be-donor MUST be half Chinese and half Caucasian and at least 18 years of age. Those participating in the test will have a swab of saliva taken by medical professionals to determine compatibility with Kyle's genetic makeup.

Serendipity School will make a to-be-determined financial contribution for the testing or other medical fees. Kyle's parents have offered to absorb the balance, if any, of the $50 per applicant processing fee.

If you know anybody that might be interested, please contact the director of Serendipity. Her name is Patrice Warto and her e-mail address is: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

As parents in our community, if there has ever been a time to come together and help save the life of a little boy, now is that time. With a heavy heart, please help spread the word to find a potential donor for Kyle.

I believe in the power of our community.
Thanks!
